Aging with Grace Love Joy Courage Confidence
As we age, reminders of growing older hit us every day. We notice that we are slowing down as we do tasks, our bodies have issues, our minds aren't as sharp, and our lives are quieter as we move out of the mainstream of society. Our culture tends to marginalize older people, and we often feel unseen, less worthwhile, and less productive.
My therapy practice focuses on aging – and dispelling the myth that when you’re old your life is over, when in fact this can be a very deep, transformative, and fulfilling time of life.
We will explore ways to step into our age with respect, dignity, and reverence. For all of us aging is new territory to navigate. The focus of life changes from seeking and striving for productivity, expansion, and finding fulfillment in society, to turning inward and redefining what we deem as important.
- How do we embrace the limitations of body and mind?
- How do we let go of other's approval or disapproval?
- How can we still be vital and productive in doing what we love?
- How can we give back to society in meaningful ways?
